Deep cleaning -
the basis
of a healthy smile
Regular hygiene treatments at the dentist's office are not only about aesthetics,
but above all about prevention.
What is
deep cleaning?
Comprehensive deep cleaning service at our clinic include:
Ultrasonic scaling – removal of hard tartar deposits.
Sandblasting – removal of deposits and discoloration, e.g., from coffee, tea, or smoking.
Polishing – smoothing the surface of the teeth to reduce plaque buildup.
Fluoridation – strengthening of enamel and protection against tooth decay.
Oral hygiene instruction – We explain step by step what daily oral care involves, demonstrate the correct techniques for brushing and flossing, and select accessories tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
Our goal is for every patient to leave the office not only with a clean smile, but also with practical tips that will help them maintain the effects of the treatment for longer.
For complete comfort, we perform the procedure under local anesthesia if necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I eat and drink immediately after deep cleaning?

It is recommended to avoid eating and drinking colored beverages (coffee, tea, red wine) for about 24 hours after the procedure to maintain the effect of clean and smooth teeth.

Can teeth be sensitive after the procedure?

Yes, sometimes for 1–2 days after cleaning, your teeth may be more sensitive to cold or hot temperatures, but the symptoms quickly subside.

Does deep cleaning hurt?

Scaling is not painful, although some patients may experience slight discomfort or tooth sensitivity. However, at our clinic we use modern equipment with a water heating system, lower amplitude, and high vibration frequency. This makes the procedure much gentler and more comfortable. We can always use local anesthesia if necessary.

Why is professional cleaning important if I take care of my teeth at home?

Home hygiene is essential, but it does not remove tartar and stubborn deposits. Professional hygiene complements daily care and protects against tooth decay and gum disease.

How often should deep cleaning be performed?

Normally every 6 months, but patients with a greater tendency to develop tartar should have it done more often – e.g., every 3–4 months.

How long does deep cleaning take?

Depending on the amount of sediment and limescale, the entire procedure usually takes between 40 and 60 minutes.

FAQ
How it look like step by step?

01
Deep cleaning
Before proceeding with whitening, we recommend professional deep cleaning treatment (scaling, sandblasting, polishing), preferably a week or a few days before the procedure. This makes whitening more effective and safer.
02
Scan
for splints
During the deep cleaning procedure or a few days later, we perform a digital intraoral scan, which we use to prepare customized splints. They are perfectly fitted to the patient's teeth and will be used in the second phase of whitening – at home.
03
Whitening by lamp
Philips Zoom
At our clinic, we perform professional whitening treatments using a lamp. This method is fast, effective, and safe for enamel. After just one visit, your teeth will be noticeably brighter. The visit consists of four cycles, each lasting about 15 minutes, and the entire procedure takes about two hours.
04
Splints and gels
at home
During the whitening visit, the patient receives pre-prepared splints with gels, along with recommendations and instructions on how to use it. Using them at home for several consecutive days allows you to consolidate the effect and further brighten your smile.
Indications

  • desire to improve the aesthetics of your smile before an important event (wedding, celebration, business meeting),
  • preparation for prosthetic or orthodontic treatment (to even out the color of your teeth).

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding,
  • active tooth decay or untreated gum disease,
  • significant enamel loss, cracked teeth, hypersensitivity,

Frequently Asked Questions

Does teeth whitening hurt?

The procedure itself is not painful, but your teeth may become temporarily more sensitive, especially to cold and heat. These symptoms usually disappear on their own within a few days.

How long does the whitening effect last?

The effect depends on the patient’s diet and hygiene. Regular hygiene and avoiding so-called staining products (coffee, red wine, cigarettes) allow you to enjoy a whiter smile for much longer.

Will the whitening effect look natural?

Yes – we select the whitening intensity individually. This gives the patient an aesthetic, brighter smile that still looks natural.
